Family Reunion

Monday, June 13, 2005 | 7:40PM

Well Sine Die has come and gone, and it was good to meet the end of the session. There were some parties held that night and the next day, and that was fun while it lasted. But then we went straight back to printing our huge log of backorders. We’re still printing orders made a few days prior to Sine Die, as a matter of fact. But in another month or so I think we’ll be caught up. Word is, there’s going to be a special session, but only the Governor can call that, and no one knows when he will, if he does at all.

Stacy and I drove up to Midlothian on Thursday night to drop of the dogs at her parents house and to pick up a 5x7 Beseler enlarger I won on eBay in Keller. The thing is 6 feet tall and incredibly heavy, but it was worth it. We left from Midlothian early Friday afternoon and headed to Ruston, Louisiana for the 19th Annual Pickering Family Reunion. I’ve missed the past 6 or 7, so it was important we both attend. It was great to finally see the family again, and they all liked Stacy a lot.

Polly and I have both decided we’re going to sign up and try to attend FotoFest Houston next March. It costs $725 for four days, not including accomodations, but the Meeting Place (which is the actual part we’re attending) is where a lot of photographers are “discovered”, so we’re hoping it’ll be worth the incredible cost. She and I are also finally starting to work on our business plan for the wedding photography we plan on doing. It’s going to be stressful, but hopefully worth it in the end.

Justin and Jennifer bought a house, and they haven’t told us about it. And Ryan Mo hasn’t returned my calls. What’s up with that? =)

Comments

I saw something in the newspaper today about Perry calling the house back in? Is this going to affect you?

Yep, sure will. I think Tuesday’s the first day of Special Session #1.

And who wrote that?

Saw it on the front page of the Sunday Houston Chronicle.

Yeah, we did buy a house. I need to call you back man. Sorry I haven’t yet, we’ve just been kind of busy (painting, moving, etc). I’ll try and give you a call sometime this week.

Hey, I am moving to Austin next month to teach in the Pflugerville school district. If any of you guys will be around then look me up or let me know where you are.
