Colorado is Friday

Stacy and I will be in Colorado on Friday night. It looks like it’ll be an 11.5 hour drive, but I’m actually looking forward to it. I know I probably won’t feel like that after hour 5, but part of the problem with long drives across Texas is the familiarity with everything on the road. Going somewhere new (or at least unfamiliar) is something worth looking forward to. And when we get up into the mountains, Stacy will have to hold me back from trying to stop every 5 minutes and pulling out the 4x5.

I’m actually having film developed to the house where we’re staying. I was worried that it wouldn’t make it here in time, since I waited until the last minute to order, unfortunately.

We don’t have a lot planned solidly yet, but it’ll just be nice to be away from Texas for awhile. I know it won’t be cold like our last trip there, but at least it’ll be a bit cooler, if only a few degrees. We’re planning to spend at least one day in Boulder, and I’ll hopefully get to talk to a graduate photography professor there that day. At the very least, I’d like to speak to the graduate coordinator and tour the campus.

I’ve been working on my Town Lake series again. It’s not my favorite body of work, but it’s keeping me shooting, and every now and then I get an image I’m really happy with. I have two projects lined up for the coming months that I’d like to dive into, and I hope I have the time to actually accomplish them.

Maybe I’ll get bored in Colorado and update this.

Have fun you guys.
