Yet Another Testament to my Lack of Athleticism

Tuesday, April 25, 2006 | 3:23AM

We were playing “kick the ball” with our nephew, Kaleb, at the in-laws house Sunday evening. The ball came to me, in my flip flops, and Kaleb shouted something along the lines of, “Put some fire into it!”, at which point I slipped said flip flops off and readied myself for this, the king of all kicks.

Kaleb is 7, and I needed to impress him.

Stacy did nothing to stop me, against her better judgment. I brought my right leg back, swung forward, and promptly planted my big toe in the dirt as hard as I possibly could.

And then I fell down.

Today they let me use the wheelchair at work. People really do treat you differently when they think you’re wheelchair-bound.

What is this, the Pickering-Lindner-Frederick one-upmanship month? Guess none of us can stand the other to get more attention. Words of advice……keep your toes out of the dirt and in your shoes!

Hey bro, leave the kicking to me and stick to the photography ;)

Way to go Pelé! I’m only laughing b/c we have all done stupid stuff. If you need a tire pump for your wheelchair I can help you out. I bet if you would have been wearing roller-skates you would have been fine.

Totally off topic, but…

Nintendo’s new console is going to be named “Wii”.

Is that so? How do you pronounce that, Justin?

Walker | Friday, April 28, 2006 | 11:43PM

Apparently it’s pronounced the same as “We”.

I have to admit, it’s actually starting to grow on me…
